Tributes poured in from different quarters for the former cabinet minister and prominent politician Kedar Singh Fonia after his death. He breathed his last at his Nehru Colony residence on Thursday night. Large number of people including the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami went to the residence of Fonia to pay their last respects. The CM said that the news of the death of Fonia is very painful. He said that the almighty should give place to the departed soul near his feet and provide strength to the grief stricken family.
Expressing deep sorrow on the death of Fonia, the Speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Ritu Khanduri said that the departed leader would always be remembered in the development of the State and building the organisation of the party.
The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara said that the death of Fonia is a great loss to Uttarakhand and its people. He said that the political vacuum created by his death is hard to fill. Mahara said that Fonia played a very long innings in politics and his role in the development of the state as the minister in the Uttar Pradesh times. The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Mathura Dutt Joshi has also expressed sorrow on the death of Fonia.
