In latest news from Doon, a day after the senior Congress leader and former cabinet minister Dinesh Aggarwal resigned from the party and walked into the saffron fold, Harish Rawat took a swipe at him, saying that he who had enjoyed positions of power for long thanks to the party should not have quit it with a few days left for the crucial Lok Sabha election. In the same breath, he said that Agarwal might have some compulsions which forced his to switch sides.

Notably, Aggarwal was included in the party’s star campaigner list, given his stature in the State party’s hierarchy.      A senior State party leader Mathura Dutt Joshi said that Aggarwal had been expelled for six years. He had been involved in activities detrimental to the party’s interest for a long time, he said.
