The Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Naveen Joshi has claimed that fearing defeat the BJP government is planning to postpone the urban local body elections in the State.

Addressing a meeting in the city on Saturday, Joshi said that the BJP wants to take control of the ULBs by appointing administrators. He said that the Congress will strongly oppose the BJP’s plan. He said that the government is trying to suppress the voice of the people by adopting such tactics to hide its anti-people policies.

Joshi alleged that the BJP is trying to disturb communal harmony in the country which is not a good sign for clean and good democracy.

He said the Modi government has nothing to show as its achievement in the last 10 years except for the huge increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, LPG cylinders and edible items. Joshi said that inflation is at its peak and the common man has to struggle to have two square meals a day. He said that the nation’s people are suffering due to the steady rise in the prices of petroleum products.
