Himalayan hospital treats more than 1 lakh patients under Ayushman scheme

The Himalayan hospital, Jollygrant has claimed that it has become the first hospital in the country to treat 1,00,000 patients free of cost under the Ayushman scheme. The vice chancellor of the Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), Vijay Dhasmana said that the hospital has created a record by treating more than one lakh patients free of cost under the Ayushman Scheme. He said that the credit for this unique achievement goes to the doctors, nursing, para medical staff and all the employees of the hospital. Dhasmana said that the Himalayan hospital was at forefront to provide quality health services at the time of the Covid-19 pandemic also. He said that the government of India has given the Himalayan hospital the’ Ayushman Gold certified’ teaching hospital for providing world class health services. Dhasmana said that the feat is indeed unique since the Himalayan hospital is the first teaching hospital in the country among 650 medical college hospitals to get the Ayushman Gold Certificate.

Giving details, the hospital authorities informed that 3,683 patients were treated in the year 2018-19 while 23,250 patients were treated in the year 2019-20. Similarly 31,334 and 33,702 patients were treated in the year 2020-21 and 2021-22 respectively. This year the hospital has treated 8,856 patients under the Ayushman scheme.
