Ensure completion of works before Global Investors Summit: DM

Dehradun district magistrate Sonika conducted an inspection of various construction and beautification works being undertaken from the Dehradun airport to Dilaram Chowk in view of the Global Investors Summit to be held in Dehradun on December 8-9. She directed the officials concerned to ensure completion of the façade, beautification and other civic facilitation works on time. Inspecting the works from Jolly Grant to Lacchiwala, she directed Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) officials to increase the number of labourers and expedite work on façade, beautification and horticulture tasks. She also directed the Doiwala sub divisional magistrate to ensure completion of the other works.

The Doiwala local body officials were directed to ensure cleaning at these spots on a daily basis. Officials were also told to talk to the shopkeepers and ensure that wares of the shops are not placed on the roads. The MDDA officials were directed to ensure uniformity in the façade and colouring works. Officials of the Electricity department were directed to paint electricity poles, remove low hanging wires and shift poles where needed. Inspecting works on the stretch from Harrawala to Dilaram Chowk, the DM told MDDA officials to expedite the façade and beautification works. They were also told to increase the number of labourers and continue work in day and night shifts for completing the task of making a vertical garden near Rispana and tulip works on the Rispana bridge.

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun was directed to ensure proper sanitation facilities on all routes from Harrawala to Dilaram Chowk. The DM also instructed officials to ensure cleaning of parks and maintaining the street lights. She directed officials of the departments concerned to remain on the work sites and ensure execution on a war footing for timely completion of the works. Debris should be removed without delay from the roadsides and construction sites, said Sonika, while adding that all the works should be completed on time.
