Meteorological centre issues heavy rainfall warning for seven districts

With Dehradun witnessing consistent rainfall with intermittent spells of heavy showers during the daytime on Sunday and the preceding night, more heavy rainfall is likely in Dehradun and six other districts on Monday. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places with intense showers possible at isolated places in the districts of the State. Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy skies. Moderate rainfall / thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 29 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 27.9 degrees Celsius and 22.7 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.1 degrees Celsius and 14.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.8 degrees Celsius and 17.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Dehradun received 38.3 millimetres of rain on Sunday while there was 9.4 millimetres in Pantnagar, 69.5 millimetres in Mussoorie, 43 millimetres in Rudrapur, 46.5 millimetres in Lohaghat, 32 millimetres in Nainital and 29.5 millimetres in Sahaspur.
