Bharat Jodo Yatra participants felicitated by U’khand Congress

The leaders of Uttarakhand Congress who participated in the 4,000 kilometre long Bharat Jodo Yatra of party leader Rahul Gandhi from Kanyakumari to Kashmir were felicitated at Rajiv Bhawan on Saturday. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president, Karan Mahara honoured them by handing them a copy of constitution and a memento. Speaking on the occasion, he said that 197 Bharat Yatris have proved themselves by walking shoulder to shoulder with Rahul Gandhi in the Yatra. He said that it is a matter of pride that seven party members from Uttarakhand participated in the Yatra. Congratulating the participants, Mahara said that their contribution would leave an indelible mark and it is without any comparison. He said that on many occasions the participants from Uttarakhand were seen leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Former MLA Lalit Farswan was handed over the command of the flag company of Sewadal while Vaibhav Walia was not only made the secretary of All India Congress Committee but he assisted Jairam Ramesh during the event. Rajpal Bisht, Jyoti Rautela, Ishita Seda, Mohit Uniyal and Ankit Shah also served their roles in the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Senior leader Manish Khanduri discharged the important responsibility of Bharat Jodo Yatra diary to ensure that important events and details reach to the general public. In the programme the participants narrated their experiences to the Congress members present there. The vice president of the Uttarakhand Congress Suryakant Dhasmana, president of Mahanagar Congress Jaswinder Singh Gogi, PK Agarwal and others were present on the occasion.
