The Uttarakhand High Court has issued a contempt notice to the Haridwar senior superintendent of police and the Manglaur police station house officer for not complying with the past order of the court.
Asking why they had not followed the orders of the court, the single bench of justice Ravindra Maithani has directed them appear in court via video conferencing on September 4. It should be mentioned here that Manglaur resident Akshay Kumar has filed the contempt petition stating that earlier this year in June he had married Farin alias Mahi.
After that he had approached the HC seeking security and the court had passed an order on June 26 for provision of security to him. On July 24, the family members of his wife kidnapped her from the road after which he was not being allowed to meet her. When he approached the local police station and cited the court order, no action was taken on his complaint, the petitioner alleged. He has cited these factors for filing the contempt petition in the HC.
