The polling for Panchayat elections in Haridwar will be held on September 26 while the counting of votes will be held on September 28. The Panchayati Raj department has given the green signal to the election programme of the State Election Commission. The commission will duly announce the code of conduct on Thursday. The State Election Commission, while deciding the Panchayat election programme for Haridwar, had sent it to the government for consent, after which Panchayati Raj secretary Nitesh Kumar Jha has issued a notification.
According to officials, the district election officer of Haridwar will also issue notification on Thursday. After this, nominations will be held from September 6 to 8. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done from September 9 to 11. After withdrawal of nominations on September 12, the symbol will be allotted on September 13. After this, polling will be held on September 26 and counting of votes will be completed on September 28. Here, the reservation for the post of district Panchayat president has not been decided yet.
The Haridwar district magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey said that all kinds of preparations have been completed at the level of district administration to ensure that fair Panchayat elections are conducted in the district.
