Govt fail to keep the promise to UPNL workers: Cong

Accusing the state government for not keeping its promise made to the agitating employees of the Uttarakhand Purva sainik kalyan Nigam Limited (UPNL), the Vice President of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana has said that two ministers of the Tirath Singh Rawat cabinet who made the commitment should resign immediately. 

He said that cabinet ministers Harak Singh Rawat and Ganesh Joshi went to the protest site of the UPNL workers at middle of night on 56th day of their agitation and assured that a Cabinet subcommittee would be set on April 22 and all the expelled workers would be taken back into the service.

The Congress leader said that the Ministers also promised that the salary of the strike period too would be paid to UPNL workers. He said that not even a single assurance made to the UPNL workers has been fulfilled till date.
