National Panchayati Raj day : PM awards 10 Panchayats of U’khand

State government is committed for the development of Panchayats: CM

On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj day on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave awards to the Panchayats of the country  under different categories  in a virtual ceremony. Ten Panchayats of Uttarakhand also received the award on the occasion. 

 Four Panchayats of Dehradun district, three of Uttarkashi and one each of Pauri, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh districts received the prize from the PM . In view of the prevailing pandemic of Covid-19, the PM gave the prizes in a virtual ceremony. Congratulating the Panchayats which received the awards, the chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat said that the state government is committed for the development of Panchayats.

The secretary Panchayati Raj, H C Semwal said that district panchayat of Pithoragarh, Block Panchayats of Jakholi in Rudraprayag, Dwarikhal of Pauri and village Panchayats of Simlas grant, Doiwala in Dehradun, Devjani in Mori of Uttarkashi and Purohitwala of Sahaspur, Dehradun were given ‘ Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Panchayat empowerment awards.

The village Panchayat of Diwadi Naugaon in Uttarkashi received award under ‘ Nanaji Deshmukh National Gaurav Gram Sabha while the village Panchayat Attok Farm Sahaspur Dehradun got prize under Gram Panchayat Vikas Yojana. The Bal Hitaishi ( child friendly) Gram Panchayat award was given to Badamwala in Sahaspur.

 The PM conferred the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Panchayat empowerment awards to 224 Panchayats, 30 village Panchayats with Nanaji Deshmukh National Gaurav Gram Sabha award, 29 village Panchayats with Gram Panchayat Vikas Yojana award and 30 village Panchayats with Bal Hitaishi (child friendly) Gram Panchayat award on the day. A sum of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 50 lakh was digitally transferred as the Prime Minister grant assistance to the bank accounts of the Panchayats on the occasion.
