Local MLA Madan Kaushik and chief development officer Prateek Jain jointly launched a machine for cleaning the manholes in the city on Saturday. With the introduction of this machine, the sanitation workers will not be required any longer to risk their lives while cleaning the sewers and covered drains in the city.
The machine launched on Saturday has cameras which can go deep inside the sewer line and find the exact location of the clog. The arms of the robotic machine can reach up to 80 feet and clear the waste clogging the drain. The machine uses water and air pressure to clear blockages in the drain.
The chief development officer Prateek Jain said that this machine can be used both automatically and manually. The authorities bought this machine through CSR. This system is being used in some municipal corporations of the country.
