Ex- CM meets CM, shares experience of tackling Covid

Former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat met the chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat, shared his experiences and gave suggestions regarding the Covid-19 situation in the state on Sunday. The former CM also announced a contribution of Rs one crore from his MLA fund to the CM relief fund.

The meeting was also attended by officials and cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj, Ganesh Joshi and state minister Dhan Singh Rawat.

Speaking at the meeting, the CM directed officials to send the demand for Covid vaccine to the company concerned without delay. He directed that necessary kits should be provided without delay to those who have undergone the Covid test. Stressing on the importance of public awareness for breaking the transmission chain, he also directed strict action against those violating the guidelines.

During the meeting, the former CM shared the experience of steps taken to tackle Covid. He suggested that in order to save lives amidst the surge, the state government should not hesitate from observing strictness. Referring to the next phase of the Covid vaccination campaign for those in the 18-45 years age group from May 1, he said that the vaccine is completely safe and that all should take it when their turn comes. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat of April, the ex- CM said that experience has taught that one does not need to panic but observe patience and precautions. The doctors have stated that the second wave is spreading faster than the first wave but at the same time, the recovery rate is better than the last time while the death rate is also low.
