DSCL answers questions raised at electric buses

The Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) has responded to questions raised by office bearers of Dehradun Mahanagar City Bus Seva Mahasangh who had travelled in the electric buses recently launched under the Dehradun smart city project. The union members had stated that two of them were charged Rs 40 for travelling from Darshanlal Chowk to ISBT and later charged Rs 30 while returning by the same bus from ISBT to Darshanlal Chowk. While they alleged anomalies in the fare, the DSCL electric bus nodal officer pointed out that electronic ticket dispensers are being used on the electric buses.

Responding to the union leaders stating that only one door of the bus is being used, the nodal officer said that there is provision for both doors in all electric buses to be used for passengers. The union leaders had opined that the bus battery seemed nearly drained on covering about 96 to 100 kilometres contrary to the claim of a bus running 180 kilometres when fully charged, the DSCL pointed out that all the buses are running for about 180 kilometres once fully charged.

The nodal officer further informed that a total of 2,182 persons had travelled on the ISBT-Rajpur route since the recent launch of the five electric buses on the route. Feedback is also being taken from the passengers and none have made any type of complaint so far. However, the feedback received will be checked once again.
