Covid count mounts: Six deaths, 249 new cases reported on Thursday

The tally of novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Uttarakhand climbed to 92842 on Thursday with the state health department reporting 249 new cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of six patients of the disease on the day after which the death toll mounted to 1555 in the state. The health department discharged 439 patients from different hospitals on Thursday. A total of 86737 patients have recovered from the disease so far in the state. The recovery percentage from the disease is now at 93.42 and the sample positivity rate is 4.97 percent.

Two patients of Covid-19 were reported dead at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Thursday. One patient each of the disease succumbed at Himalayan hospital, Dehradun, Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun, District Hospital Pithoragarh and Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani on Thursday. Out of 439 patients discharged on the day, 215 were from Dehradun while 110 were from Nainital. The authorities reported 90 patients of Covid-19 from Dehradun, 53 from Nainital, 28 from Haridwar, 19 from Udham Singh Nagar, 15 from Pauri, 13 from Almora and Pithoragarh, seven from Chamoli,  five from Uttarkashi and two each from Champawat, Bageshwar and Rudraprayag. Uttarakhand now has 3309 active cases of the disease. 

Dehradun is at continuing to remain at top of the table of active cases with 917 cases while with 752 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third position with 334 cases, Pithoragarh has 193, Tehri 175, Uttarkashi 165, Almora 153,  Bageshwar 147, Udham Singh Nagar 119, Pauri 118, Chamoli 104 and Champawat 71 active cases of the disease. With 61 active cases of Covid-19, Rudraprayag is at the bottom of the table of active cases of Covid-19.
