Thursday, 05 May | PNS | Dehradun

The cooperatives secretary, BVRC Purushotam has said that a cooperative partnership between the committees of plain and mountainous areas should be built for mutual benefit. He made this observation while undertaking inspections of multipurpose cooperative committee Jhajhra Limited and Milk Producers cooperative committee limited Shankarpur in Dehradun on Wednesday.

He said that the cooperative committees should help the farmers of mountainous areas in production and sell them in the plains. The secretary ordered the officers to work on creating a cooperative partnership scheme for the farmers of plains and mountainous areas.

He directed the additional registrar and nodal officer of the state integrated cooperative project Anand Shukla to ensure that the dairy farmers and self help groups get adequate loan from National Cooperative Dairy Federation (NCDF) so that the farmers can buy high milk yielding cows. He said that there is a big scope in the field of dairy and the milk production in the state needs to be increased.
