The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) said on Wednesday that several play schools in Dehradun are being operated illegally without getting any proper approval from the education department.  A team of five members of the commission conducted inspections of three play schools on Wednesday and found out that most of the play schools in the city, who have taken franchise of famous playschools, are not recognised under the education department of Uttarakhand. Most of these schools violate the norms set up by the education department for the operation of a school. The executive chairman of the commission, Vinod Kaparwan said that the schools who have taken franchise of famous playschools earn crores of rupees from young children across the State. He said that the commission has also directed the administration of the playschool chain Bubbles Group to present the necessary document in the SCPCR office soon. The team also found during the inspection that there were no open grounds available for young children to play in any of the play schools. He said that there was also a lack of standard safety measures in school and the appointed teachers were not qualified as per the standards too. Kaparwan said that the team also found several anomalies considering which, the SCPCR will soon send a recommendation report to the State government to make a policy to ensure safety of young kids who study in such playschools.
