In latest Uttarakhand news, the alternative route that the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) built after the strategically important motor bridge near Jumma on Joshimath-Malari highway in Chamoli district that leads to the India-China border region was washed out in flood has been opened for vehicular movement. BRO officials said that the road has been opened for traffic after the hume pipes were laid. Earlier, it was opened for the movement of the people living in the villages in Niti valley near the China border, but the traffic movement remained stalled as the hume pipes were yet to be laid.
