Religious conversions, land and love Jihad being tackled sternly: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that strict action is being taken against religious conversions, land and love Jihad in Uttarakhand. He said that the anti riot act and strict land laws have been enacted to make the State safe. All these steps are being taken to make Uttarakhand one of the ideal States of the country.
Dhami was addressing a programme organised by Arpit Foundation to felicitate him at CM residence on Wednesday. Terming his felicitation as honour and support of 1.25 crore people of Uttarakhand. He said that the people of the State have supported the State government in every historic and important decision.
The CM said that earlier the dreams of the youth of the State used to get shattered by copying and paper leak incidents. After the implementation of a strict anti-copying law the competitive examinations in the State are being held in a fair and transparent manner. In the last three and half years, more than 23,000 youngsters have got government jobs.
Dhami said that many schemes have been launched to strengthen the women under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government has provided reservation to women in parliament and schemes such as Ujjwala and Lakhpati Didi are being operated for the welfare of the women. Similarly the Uttarakhand government has taken effective steps through schemes like the Mukhyamantri Nari Shashaktikaran Yojana, Mahalaxmi Yojana, Vatsalya Yojana, Anchal Yojana and Poshan Abhiyan in the State.
The CM said that Uttarakhand has become the first State in the country to implement Uniform Civil Code which has ensured equality in the society and similar rights to women. By making the registration of live- in relationships compulsory the State government has ensured that the legal protection is granted to the women and children.
Swami Chidanand, Swami Yatindranand Giri, Krishna Giri, Bharat Giri, senior BJP leader Shyam Jaju, MLA Durgeshwar Lal, chairperson of Arpit Foundation Honey Pathak and others attended the programme.
