Pauri police registered a case against the suspended registrar of GB Pant Institute of Engineer and Technology, Ghurdauri, Sandeep Kumar under sections 409 and 477A of Indian Penal Code on the written complaint of registrar in-charge Sanjeev Naithani.

Police said that in the complaint it is stated that the documents of the appointment of the teachers in the year 2018-19 are not in the office which has hampered government work. These documents are reportedly in possession of Sandeep Kumar. The institute director, professor Y Singh told this correspondent that some documents were not found in the office. A letter was sent to Kumar in this regard, but he didn’t reply.

As registrar is the custodian of the records, Naithani accompanied by Singh submitted a complaint against the then registrar Kumar to the police. It is pertinent to mention that institute board’s vice chairperson and additional chief secretary Radha Raturi had suspended Kumar from the post of registrar due to allegations of financial irregularities and other anomalies.
