Terming the election manifesto of ruling BJP for the 2022 Assembly elections as an election time stunt the Uttarakhand Congress has said that the BJP government has failed to implement the promises made to the people of the State.

The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress, Garima Dasauni said that in the run up to the Assembly elections of 2022, the BJP had released an election manifesto of 56 pages but in the last two years the party has failed to implement even one fourth of the promises.

She said that BJP has failed to fulfill the promises it made to the women, youngsters and the farmers and the promised Lokayukt is nowhere to be seen.

Taking a dig at the decision of the BJP to send its members of parliament in the 23 Assembly constituencies which the BJP lost in the Assembly elections, Dasauni said that the BJP should tell as to what report card its MPs will carry to the people. She said that the problem of unemployment, price rise and others faced by the people of 23 Assembly constituencies is similar in 47 constituencies from where the BJP had won. Dasauni said the BJP should inform about the number of the problems and issues solved by its MLAs. She said that the people of State are facing problems due to the potholes on the roads, the State has taken a leadership position in crime against women and the law and order situation is at an abyss in Uttarakhand. The Congress leader said that the land mafia, liquor mafia and mining mafia are ruling the roost in the State. She added that the health and education sectors are derailed and unemployment is at an all time high. Dasauni said that all the five MPs of the state remained missing and they remained tight-lipped on the Agniveer scheme. She claimed that the people of the State are ready to teach BJP a lesson in the upcoming Lok Sabha and urban local body elections.
