AAP members hop in to BJP

75 office bearers & workers of AAP from Haridwar & Rishikesh join the BJP

The trend of party hopping continuing in the run up to the Assembly elections slated to be held next year, a number of members of the Aam Aadmi Party joined the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Tuesday in the presence of senior party leaders. About 75 members of the AAP from Haridwar and Rishikesh joined the BJP in the presence of the BJP Uttarakhand in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam, party state president Madan Kaushik, general secretary (organisation) Ajey Kumar and general secretary Kuldeep Kumar among others.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Gautam said that those who have left the AAP and joined the BJP are now part of the BJP party, adding that their honour will remain secure in the party. He further said that their joining the BJP will ensure a wider margin of victory for the BJP candidates in the Vidhan Sabha elections.

Expressing his views on the occasion, the BJP state president Madan Kaushik welcomed the decision of those who had been serving the AAP since its formation, to join the BJP. He opined that their decision had been influenced by the benefits they had received of the welfare schemes initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government in Uttarakhand. He expressed the hope that they will boost the party’s efforts in ensuring that the poor are able to access the welfare schemes of the Central and State governments.

The AAP members who joined the BJP on Tuesday include the AAP state joine secretary Manoj Dwivedi, media in-charge of Haridwar- Navin Singhal, Haridwar Vidhan Sabha in-charge Sanjeev Tomar and many others totaling to 75 office bearers and party workers of the AAP.
