UTDB begins SIV paragliding training in Tehri

The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) began a seven-day SIV paragliding training programme at the Koti colony to encourage adventure sports and link them to employment. SIV stands for Simulation d’Incident en Vol which translates to simulation of incidents in flight.

The district tourism officer Atul Bhandari informed that the SIV paragliding training will be conducted through master trainers. The training will enable the participants to learn more aspects of paragliding. SIV is a special training as part of which those already trained in paragliding are taugh to handle various incidents in flight. Those who pass the course are then enabled in training other paragliding trainees. The aero sports specialist Shankar Bora from UTDB will also be present during the training programme. According to officials, Pratapnagar to Koti Colony is an ideal stretch for SIV paragliding training. The government is making consistent effort to make paragliding a regular feature of adventure sports in the State, they said.
