A march in support of the demand for justice to Ankita Bhandari was taken out at Srinagar in Pauri district on Thursday evening. Holding torches in hands the protesters demanded that the name of the VIP involved in the Ankita Bhandari murder case should be made public.

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara and former PCC president Ganesh Godiyal also attended the march. The PCC president Mahara said that the State government is trying to protect the VIP involved in the crime. He said that in an attempt to break the morale of the people supporting the parents of Ankita Bhandari, journalist and social worker Ashutosh Negi was arrested. The arrest was made on the complaint of a person who has a dubious record.

Mahara said that effort was made to destroy evidence in the case when a bulldozer was used to demolish the resort.

He said that the people of the State are standing firmly with the family of Ankita Bhandari.
