UJVN Limited surpasses generation target

The UJVN Limited has generated 5088.88 million units of electricity against the target of 4822 million units in the financial year 2019-20. In the current financial year 2020-21, the power plants of the corporation have generated 598 million units of electricity in the month of August compared to the target of 573 million units. Earlier from the month of April to August, the corporation had generated 2,648 million units compared to the target of 2,616 million units. This was stated in the 99th board meeting of the corporation held recently via video conferencing. The chairperson of UJVN Limited, Radhika Jha informed that according to the key performance indicators set in 2018-19, the electricity generation target had been set at 4,700 million units compared to which 4,663 million units (99.21 per cent) were generated. She said that though incentive is being given to the corporation personnel for the past four years, it has been decided that from 2019-20 the provision of incentive will be made with transparency and on the basis of key performance indicators to encourage better work culture. In the past years, incentives of Rs 25,000 and Rs 50,000 had been given. However, adopting frugality in view of Covid-19 pandemic while continuing encouragement for the personnel, Rs 10,000 incentive for regularised employees and Rs 5,000 for outsourced employees has been approved. The corporation’s managing director Sandeep Singhal, independent directors JL Bajaj, BP Pandey, IK Pandey and other members were present in the meeting.
