U’kand Congress’ Teen Tigada punch hits BJP

The theme song of the Congress gaining popularity, BJP devising strategy to hit back

The rising popularity of the theme song of Uttarakhand Congress with the punchline ‘Teen Tigada Kaam Bigada’ has apparently unnerved the ruling BJP in Uttarakhand. The party had launched the song on Monday for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. The three minute song targets the ruling BJP and highlights its “failures” in Uttarakhand. The song with the punchline ‘ Teen Tigada Kam Bigada, Uttarakhand Mai Nahi Ayegi BJP Dubara’ tries to neutralise the double engine war cry of the saffron party and hits where it hurts the most for BJP, the changing of chief ministers in Uttarakhand. The song takes the state government to task for large-scale unemployment, corruption, rising prices, and other failures. The song also takes a swipe at the BJP for its failure to effectively tackle the pandemic of Covid-19, not appointing Lokayukta and disappointing record of security of women. By targeting the BJP’s changing of CMs in its punch line the Congress has made it clear that it will make it the major election issue.

It is learnt that the think tank of the ruling BJP is now engrossed in devising a strategy to thwart the three CM diatribe of Congress party.

The social media coordinator of Uttarakhand Congress Amarjit Singh told The Pioneer that the theme song has gone viral from the day it was launched. “It is generating a huge response and has been downloaded and forwarded many times which suggests that it has touched the hearts of people. The Teen Tigada… punch line has attracted every citizen of Uttarakhand,’’ he said.

After a landslide victory in the assembly elections of 2017, the BJP appointed Trivendra Singh Rawat as chief minister of Uttarakhand. He was unceremoniously removed on March 9 last year and Garhwal MP Tirath Singh Rawat was appointed in his place. However Tirath too could not survive for long as the BJP high command decided to appoint a relatively inexperienced and young Pushkar Singh Dhami in his place.
