Intellectual property rights workshop concludes at SVU

A two-day workshop on ‘Intellectual Property Rights’ concluded at the Meerut-based Shri Venkateshwara University. Divided into eight sessions, the workshop was addressed by a number of dignitaries, including the vice-chancellors of several universities,   academicians and senior officials of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

In his address, the examiner of patents and designs, Union Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Yasir Abbas Zaidi said that the intellectual property rights and copyrights would help India reach the summit of the world in the domain of intellectual capacity.

The chief executive officer of G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pantnagar J P Mishra said that aside from promoting innovation, the intellectual property rights would also take quality to the top by curbing duplication and piracy through copyright, trademark and patent.  The chairman, Venkateshwara Group, Sudhir Giri said that Shri Venkateshwara University was all set to emerge as a centre of academic excellence on the strength of relentless research and development based on Intellectual Property Rights.
