Police find decomposed body of  missing teenager

The police found the decomposed body of a teenaged boy in a ditch in a forest near Kathgodam in Nainital district. The boy was missing since February 17 this year, the officials said. They informed that the deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Dumka (15) who belongs to Bhimtal’s Padampuri but was living with his aunt in Kathgodam for studies. He was a class IX student.

According to the officials, Bhaskar left home for school at 8:30 am on February 17 but did not return home. When the family contacted the school, they informed them that the children were on leave that day due to the teacher- parents meeting. The family looked for Bhaskar at all possible places but could not find him. The officials said that the family finally approached the police. The police registered a missing report and started searching for Bhaskar but failed to find any clue about his whereabouts.

The police finally found his body in a ditch in a forest near Kathgodam on Tuesday. The officials said that the police found the body in a decomposed state and no injury marks were visible. The police have taken the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem. The police have started the investigation and the cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report, the officials said.
