Congratulating the students on Children’s Day, the principal of Delhi Public School (DPS) Ranipur, Haridwar, Anupam Jagga said that with marked decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases the fear from the disease is also getting reduced. He said that the children who were kept in the confines of their homes by the disease are now coming out of the virtual cage and are enjoying the new found freedom.

“During the pandemic period everything was replaced, from school to the closed door room, from teacher to mobile phone, playground to YouTube, drawing painting on their art book to screen of the computer, mobile phone and tablet. They used to peep out from the window as birds do from their nests. Fortunately things have improved now. The imprisoned feelings of the children after entering the gate of the school are being expressed by their school teachers on Children’s Day,’’ Jagga said.

He further stated, “Tired by the virtual world and social media, the children are coming out of the cage. They want to play with their classmates, participate in physical activity, meet their old school mates and live in a natural environment. They want to relish the classroom teaching and experiential learning, compete with their classmates and want to experience the feeling of loss and winning.’’

The principal said that the parents too are happy to send their wards to the school. They want an improvement in physical and mental fitness of their wards.  Jagga said that the school authorities are strictly following the Covid-19 safety protocol in the school to ensure safety of the students.

“We are using both offline and online modes of teaching and through them the students are examined. We are stepping out towards the hybrid learning environment,’’ he said.
