The Centre has announced four per cent hike in dearness allowances (DA) for its employees amidst the Navratri festival. With this hike, the DA for the Central government employees has increased to 46 per cent from the existing 42 per cent and this hike will be effective from July 1. As per the Central government sources, over one crore employees, including 60 lakh pensioners, would be benefited by this hike.
