Refuting the allegations of Dharampur MLA and former Dehradun mayor Vinod Chamoli regarding anomalies in the Smart City projects, the Dehradun district magistrate and chief executive officer of Dehradun Smart City Limited (DSCL) Sonika said that all works are being done as per the final plan approved by the authorities concerned.

Recently, Chamoli claimed that the plans in the original detailed project report were not implemented in the smart city project which were approved by the Municipal Corporation Dehradun at that time. He said that the projects presented at that time were not executed and the DSCL officials changed the entire scenario.

Refuting all these claims, Sonika said that all smart city works have been and are being done as per the final plan approved by the officials concerned at that time. “The MLA was probably present at the time of the conception of the plans for smart city which were passed by the corporation at that time when he was the Dehradun mayor.

However, new things and changes were introduced later by other officials concerned under the supervision of the new mayor at the time Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’. After thorough discussions and planning, a plan was approved by the authorities concerned and the same was executed by DSCL,” she said. Sonika said that considering the practical execution of certain works, DSCL made some minute changes accordingly in some areas but nothing significant was ever changed that was part of the final plan.
