E-rickshaw operators of Tanakpur accuse motor showroom owner of fraud

Stating that an owner of a motor showroom in Tanakpur has allegedly cheated some e-rickshaw drivers by not registering their vehicles even after taking Rs 15,000 from many drivers, members of e-rickshaw union of Tanakpur have sent a letter to the district magistrate of Champawat district to take action against the accused. The president of the association Manoj Gadkoti informed that over 15 e-rickshaw operators have complained to the police who have assured them to take appropriate action after a proper investigation. If the authorities fail to take any action, their union will protest against them, as per Gadkoti. Moreover, the Dehradun president of Devbhoomi e-rickshaw welfare society, Ravindra Tyagi said that the accused helped some e-rickshaw drivers in Tanakpur to get loans for their rickshaws and also asked for money to register their vehicles but never actually registered them. Now the transport department has seized their vehicles and they are helpless, said Tyagi while adding that he hopes the authorities will take action against the culprit soon.
