5,000 mini Anganwadi centres to be upgraded in U’Khand

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya said that 5,000 mini Anganwadi centres in Uttarakhand will be upgraded soon into full-fledged Anganwadi centres. Arya said that recently the approval for upgrading the mini Anganwadi centres into full-fledged Anganwadi centres has been received recently. With this new development, more than 5,000 mini centres will become full-fledged Anganwadi centres and each of these centres will have one worker and one assistant to properly attend to the children, she said.

Arya further said that this was a long-standing demand and that this upgrade has honoured the sentiments of the Anganwadi workers. She expressed gratitude towards Union Women Empowerment and Child Development minister Smriti Irani and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for honouring this demand in favour of Anganwadi workers.
