The Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) chairperson Kusum Kandwal has asked the police to take strict action against culprits involved in the Haldwani riot. She said this during her visit to Haldwani to meet the women police personnel who were injured during the riot in the city on February 8. Kandwal urged the police to take strict action against the culprits involved in the incident, stating that India is a secular nation where people of all religions coexist peacefully. She emphasised that anyone who defames Uttarakhand will not be forgiven, regardless of their religion. Kandwal also praised the women police personnel for their dedication to serving the public and caring for their families. She assured them that the commission will always prioritise the safety of women police personnel.
