Will provide every possible facility to Shiv Bhakts- CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Uttarakhand government has set aside a separate budget for Kanwad Yatra for the first time so that all the arrangements are done in a proper manner for the Yatra. The CM was in Haridwar on Wednesday where he welcomed the Kanwad Yatris near Dam Kothi. He also washed the feet of the Yatris as a mark of his respect for the devotees of Lord Shiva. He welcomed the Yatris by presenting them the sacred Ganga Jal.

 Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that he views a part of Lord Shiva in his followers. He said that all the Yatris would offer the water of Ganga to Lord Shiva. Dhami said that the State government has tried to provide every possible facility to the Kanwad Yatris so that they don’t face any problem in their religious journey. He also appreciated the services rendered by the social organisations, self help groups and the state administration during the Yatra.

Dhami said that a record number of pilgrims are visiting Uttarakhand for Char Dham and Kanwad Yatra this year. He informed that so far 27 lakh registered Yatris have visited the Char Dhams and more than 28 lakh Kanwad Yatris are in the State .

He added that a WhatsApp group at the highest level has been formed to ensure that the pilgrims don’t face any problem during the Kanwad Yatra. The CM disclosed that he too is part of the group to monitor all the arrangements.

MLAs Adesh Chauhan, Pradeep Batra, former MLA Sanjay Gupta, Garhwal commissioner Sushil Kumar, Deputy Inspector General of Garhwal K S Nagnyal, district magistrate of Haridwar Vinay Shankar Pandey, Senior Superintendent of Police Yogendra Singh Rawat and others were present on the occasion.
