Amidst some sections of the religious fraternity questioning the validity of Swami Avimukteshwaranan Saraswati being made the Shankaracharya of Jyotish Peeth, he along with the Dwarka Peeth Shankaracharya Sadanand Saraswati and Sringeri Peeth Shankaracharya Vidhushekhara Bharti were accorded a grand welcome at Ravigram here on Monday. Devotees and an army band walked ahead as the three Shankaracharyas were brought to the venue of the Mahasammelan on a chariot.
The three Shankaracharyas first paid their obeisance at the Narsinh temple and then reached Ravigram. Noted folk singer Narendra Singh Negi sang Ganesh Vandana and a prayer to lord Badrinath to start the event. Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said that Adi Shankaracharya had established the four Peeths across the nation. Recalling his Guru and previous Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati, he said that he will attempt to establish a 100 bed hospital in Joshimath which was one of the two main wishes of Swaroopanand Saraswati.
