The officiating director general of police Abhinav Kumar directed the officials to make all police buildings environment friendly. He also directed that all police stations and Chowkis should be made women friendly for women police personnel and women visitors. Kumar directed them to ensure that the new buildings of the police department have a solar energy generation system and rainwater harvesting to promote sustainable development.
He also instructed officials to identify old buildings under the department where such systems can be adopted. The DGP said this in a meeting held with senior police officials of the State to ensure proper utilisation of funds allocated for the financial year 2024-25. He said that the department must use the budget wisely and ensure that good quality material is used by construction agencies in construction works. He also directed them to make a calendar for the inauguration of the construction works that will be completed soon.
