A man named Sonu has absconded after allegedly murdering his wife and mother-in-law with a sickle in Kashipur on Sunday morning. According to the police, the man allegedly killed both women due to their consistent objections to his several affairs with other women. The police stated that one of the victims was the accused’s second wife, His first wife had reportedly divorced him due to his affairs. The second wife returned from her mother’s house along with her mother on Saturday who also used to talk to the accused Sonu about his affairs. According to the locals, they heard three of them quarrelling on Saturday night too.
The circle officer (CO) of Kashipur, Bir Singh informed that the accused hasbrutally killed both the victims. He said, “The accused slit the throat of his wife and hit hard on the skull of his mother-in-law using a sickle. The crime possibly happened in the early morning on Sunday. The authorities reached the crime scene after locals informed the police about the crime around 8 AM. We found the sickle at the crime scene near the bodies. The teams conducted Panchnama and the bodies were sent for the postmortem.” The CO informed that the accused Sonu has three children- a daughter from the first marriage who was living with him and two sons with the second wife but he took them with him after the double-murder. “We found during the investigation that he dropped the kids at his sister’s house in Amroha and fled from there too. Both women have been brutally killed by Sonu. We are investigating the case and the police will nab him soon,” added the CO.
