CS reviews tourism master plan works in Tehri

While on a visit to New Tehri, the chief secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu took a stock of projects under the tourism master plan worth Rs 1,200 crore which have been approved for beautification and developing the area around the Tehri dam reservoir.  He inspected the 

Dobra Chanthi bridge, took stock of the floating huts and reviewed the detailed project report pertaining to Tehri tourism master plan prepared by WAPCOS Limited.

He also held a meeting with the officials concerned regarding the Tehri tourism master plan. He said that the Tehri lake has immense potential from tourism point of view and every effort is being made to bring Tehri on the world tourism map. The chief secretary said that after the establishment of tourism infrastructure around Tehri lake, the number of tourists will also increase here, which will increase both employment and income of the local people. He directed the executing body to ensure that all possible works to be done under the Tehri tourism master plan are completed on a priority basis.

The Tehri district magistrate Eva Ashish Srivastava, senior superintendent of police Navneet Singh Bhullar, district tourism and development officer Atul Bhandari and district adventure sports officer Khushal Singh Negi were also among those present on the occasion.
