In latest news from Uttarakhand, Padma Shri recipient centenarian saint Swami Shivanand will join the Ram Navami procession to be taken out on Wednesday as the chief guest. Rashtriya Shri Ram Seva Dal announced this. Besides, the Ram Navami procession will be of some special significance this time because it marks the first celebration of the day after the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya opened to the devotees.

When asked how he was feeling a day ahead of Ram Navami, Swami Shivanand said he was excitedly looking forward to participating in the celebration in the town of Vishwanath.

In this year’s procession, tableaux and dance dramas depicting important episodes from the life of Lord Ram will be presented. Apart from this, bhajan-kirtan and satsang will also be organised. On the auspicious occasion, special pujas will be performed in various temples of Uttarkashi.

Shri Ram Seva Dal while inviting all to join the procession said that the celebration of the day would not just strengthen religious sentiment but also spread the message of unity and brotherhood in the society.
