Dhami to meet party MPs of the State in New Delhi

The Delhi stopover of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday has heated up the political temperature in Dehradun. After attending the swearing in ceremony of Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar, Dhami would stay in the national capital. On Monday night, the CM would hold interactions with the members of parliament from the State at the residence of Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ in Delhi.  The CM is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. These meetings and indications emanating from the ruling party point out that the ruling party has decided to galvanise its organisation for the parliamentary elections of 2024 and the elections of the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) slated next year. The meeting of MPs from the State has been convened by the national general secretary of the BJP and State in -charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt and general secretary organisation Ajaey Kumar would attend the meeting along with all the MPs of the State.

In meeting with the PM Modi, Dhami is expected to inform him about the recent brainstorming held in Mussoorie and the crux obtained from the deliberations.

Meanwhile the visit of the CM to Delhi has also given rise to the speculations that Dhami could reshuffle his team of ministers. The central leadership of the BJP has come in an alert mode after recent electoral reversals in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections.  The party is learnt to have made a micro management plan of securing more than 50 per cent of the votes in the Lok Sabha elections. It has asked its MPs to focus on the booths in which the party is not strong. The party has made a list of about 1,700 such booths in which the BJP candidates lagged behind in the Lok Sabha elections in the year 2019. Interestingly the BJP candidates won in all the five parliamentary seats in the Lok Sabha elections of 2014 and 2019 and the party wants to keep the winning streak intact in the elections of 2024 and keeping it in the focus the party has started gearing itself up.
