Friday, 17 December 2021 | PNS | Dehradun

The Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar has suspended an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) from Haridwar for non-compliance with protocols. The police informed that last year, Kumar reviewed a complaint of a Bahadrabad resident named Vivek Kumar of Haridwar district who had accused an investigating officer of pressurising him to compromise with the plaintiff regarding a fraud case. After investigating the matter, the DGP found the officer guilty and directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Haridwar to suspend him.

He also ordered him to determine why the clerk concerned failed to send the investigation report to the ASI Alok Kumar, as per the police. On reviewing the matter again, the DGP found that ASI Alok Kumar had failed to comply with rules and did not inform the senior officials about the action taken on the case beforehand as per the protocols. He has directed SSP to suspend him immediately.
