Prominent scholars of Sanskrit to attend Chintan Shivir in U’khand

 In an attempt to promote Sanskrit education in Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand government would organise a two day State level Sanskrit Chintan Shivir on November 3 and 4. The Shivir would be inaugurated by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

This decision was conveyed by the education minister Dhan Singh Rawat to the officers of Sanskrit education during the review meeting of the department on Tuesday. In the meeting the minister directed the officers to prepare a concrete plan for the promotion and publicity of the second language of the State. He said that a vision document for Sanskrit education would be prepared in the two day Chintan Shivir. Rawat said that the prominent scholars of Sanskrit would attend the Chintan Shivir. He directed the officers to finalise the place where the Shivir would be held. He also directed the officers to prepare a work plan on ten points for listing them as achievements in the year 2025 when the State would celebrate the silver jubilee of its creation. He said that five comprehensive Sanskrit festivals would be organised in different parts of the State and one Sanskrit Village would be set in every district.

The minister also directed the officers to train five lakh people in Sanskrit language. He said that soon public representatives, Ashrams and capable persons would be contacted for adopting the schools of the Sanskrit education department. The meeting was attended by secretary Sanskrit education Chandresh Yadav, Vice Chancellor (VC) Sanskrit university Dinesh Chandra, director S P Khali and others.
