Covid-19 contagion on decline in Uttarakhand

The active case count falls to 7,560, Two deaths, 716 new cases reported

With decrease in the contagion of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), the number of the active cases in Uttarakhand are on a decline. The state health department reported 716 new cases of the Covid-19 in the state on Thursday. On a positive note a total of 1,354 patients were reported recovered from the disease on the day. The department also reported the death of two patients on the day.

In the state 87,277 new cases of the disease have been reported so far from January 1 this year. A total of 76,745 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 217 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 87.93 per cent on Thursday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 3.14 per cent on the day. 

The authorities reported the death of one patient each at Mahant Indiresh hospital and HNB base hospital Srinagar on Thursday.

The health department reported 212 new patients from Dehradun, 88 from Chamoli and 87 from Haridwar district on Thursday.

The active case count of Covid-19 in the state has now dropped to 7,560.  Dehradun with 3,932 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 1,214 active cases of the disease. Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table with 40 active cases of the disease.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 40,519 people were vaccinated in 1346 sessions in the state held on Thursday.
