Weather gradually warming up across the State

The plains in Uttarakhand are now starting to experience warmer weather while the weather in the mountainous regions has remained comparatively colder. The minimum temperature in Dehradun increased by five degrees Celsius on Wednesday when it was recorded at 14 degrees Celsius. This trend is forecast to continue on Thursday. However, the state meteorological centre has forecast very light to light rainfall / thunderstorm / snowfall at a few places in Uttarkashi, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts and at isolated places in the remaining parts of the state’s mountainous regions on Thursday.  Dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains of the state today while snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above.

The provisional state capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear to partly cloudy sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 24 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius respectively on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at various places in the state on Wednesday were 23.8 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 25.1 degrees Celsius and 15.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 11.9 degrees Celsius and four degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14 degrees Celsius and 5.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
