Very heavy rain warning issued for seven districts

Heavy to very rainfall is likely at some places in seven districts of the State today. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Chamoli districts on Sunday. Further, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hail and intense showers are also likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Dehradun, Tehri, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar and Chamoli districts and at many places in remaining districts of the State.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience light to moderate rain/thundershowers, which may be intense/heavy rain in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 31.5 degrees Celsius and 23.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 33.9 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25 degrees Celsius and 13.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24 degrees Celsius and 17.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
