12 new Covid-19 cases reported in U’khand

The situation of pandemic seems to be in control in Uttarakhand as the state health department reported only 12 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 16 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Sunday. 

No death of any Covid patient was reported in the state on the day. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,42,749 while a total of 3,28,906 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state 7,377 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 95.99 while the sample positivity rate on Sunday was 0.12 per cent. 

The state health department reported four new patients of Covid -19 from Dehradun , two each from Bageshwar and Rudraprayag anf one each from Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh  and Uttarkashi on Sunday. No new cases were reported in the remaining six districts on the day.

The state now has 317 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 99 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Chamoli has 40 active cases. 

In the ongoing vaccination drive only 6,226 people were vaccinated in 90 sessions in the state on Sunday. The vaccination count on the day was less due to the festival of Rakshabandhan. The health department is planning to undertake a mega vaccination drive on Monday.
