CM hails budget as inclusive & growth oriented

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has hailed the general budget 2024-25 as inclusive, balanced and growth oriented. He said that the budget is dedicated to the four pillars of Viksit Bharat -poor, youth, women and farmers -as propounded by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dhami said that the budgetary estimates this year are 15.27 per cent higher than last year.

The CM said that the State government has formulated more than 30 policies for industrial development and employment generation and positive effects of these policies are clearly visible.  The CM said that the growth rate of industrial development in the year 2022-23 was 7.63 per cent which is higher than the national average. He said that the per capita income in the State has also increased by 12 per cent which is a healthy sign. The CM said that a report on multi-dimensional poverty index released by the NITI Aayog suggests that 9.17 lakh people have come out of poverty in the State. 

Lauding the budget, the CM said that a sum of Rs 5,668 crore have been allotted for welfare of the poor and Rs 1,679 are earmarked for youth welfare, technical education and higher education. Dhami said that a provision of Rs 2,415 crore has been made for farmers in the budget while Rs 14,538 crore have been allotted for gender budget which highlights the commitment of the State government for women empowerment.
