Rally held to raise awareness on drug abuse

The Haridwar district administration and police took out a rally against drug abuse on Monday. A number of youngsters participated in the rally held under the drug-free campaign to raise public awareness on substance abuse.

Haridwar district magistrate Vinay Shankar Pandey said that district administration and police have launched a campaign against drugs in Haridwar district. “We organised a large rally on Monday to make the youth aware. Citizens were also administered an oath to neither consume drugs nor allow substance abuse in their surroundings,” said Pandey.

Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given a call to make the State drug-free by 2025.He said that drug addiction cannot be eradicated instantly as people will have to be made aware about it. Programmes are being organised by the police in every police station area. The effect of various efforts being undertaken will be seen in the future, he added.
