The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) will take action against those spreading misleading information on social media platforms without any concrete proof regarding recruitment exams conducted across the State. The senior superintendent of police (SSP) of STF, Ayush Agrawal said that a post by a young man from Uttarkashi was making rounds on social media platforms recently in which he claimed of alleged rigging in the recently held ranker inspector recruitment examination. He said that the STF conducted an investigation in the matter and the claim was found to be bogus.

When the person in question was asked about any evidence to back up his claim, he immediately deleted the post from his Facebook account. He informed the STF that he had no evidence that backs up his allegation as he made claims of rigging in the recruitment exam in his post on the basis of hearsay. He has apologised for his action and promised not to put up such baseless posts in the future, added the SSP.

Agrawal appealed to the public to not post or spread misleading information regarding any recruitment exam on social media platforms without any concrete evidence. He said that if a person has any evidence regarding any kind of fraud or rigging in a recruitment exam, they can approach the STF. The STF will conduct an unbiased investigation in the matter and strict action will be taken against the culprits, said Agrawal. He said that STF will also take legal action against those posting or spreading false rumours on social media platforms regarding recruitment exams with the intention of misleading others.
